Machine Guards – Protect your workers.

Plasweld can manufacture impact resistant machine guards to your exact specification. The use of ultra clear polycarbonate on machine guards, protective covers and display cases can add to the overall safety by ensuring the operator or viewer has a clear and unrestricted view of what is happening on the other side of the barrier.

Polycarbonate is rated as being 250 times stronger than glass and is virtually unbreakable on impact. Flexible enough to be bent with the application of heat, polycarbonate can be fabricated into various shapes to covers a wide range of objects or machines. Polycarb can be used as a stand-alone protection or fitted to steel frames for extra support.
Ideal for food processing areas, workshops, engineering & machining areas & public display areas.

Polycarb can also be used for windbreaks and barriers in public areas where the unbreakable nature of the product is a valuable advantage.

• Liners

 There’s a fair bit of truth in the old saying “prevention is better than cure”.  Smart maintenance people know this and that’s why they’ll look for ways to protect their business from the huge cost of replacing plant and equipment.

If you’ve got equipment that’s subject to the wear and tear through contact with abrasive materials you may be able to prolong its life, increase efficiency and at the same time improve safety.

Polyethylene sheets can be used as liners for hoppers, tip truck trays, excavator buckets and in a range of other high wear applications.  In fact, polyethylene chute liners for concrete trucks are just about becoming standard issue.

Not only do the polyethylene sheets protect the substrate but, due to their inherently slippery nature, they significantly increase through-put.  And of course a slipperier surface means material doesn't’t get stuck making the job much safer for the operator who would ordinarily have to clear the blockage.

These sheets provide a low cost and easily replaceable solution to the problems of equipment wear and material ‘hang-up’.

• Shop Fittings

• Food Grade Funnels

Sometimes we are asked to make unusual hand formed shaped from plastic.  These food grade funnels are used in metal detection for food production with some being round at the top  and square at the bottom.

Here's a fume hood we did for a local gold mine.  It is designed to be fitted to and electro winning cell and is made from acid resistant polypropylene.

• Plastic Welding

 Lots of plastics can be welded.  Plasweld specialises in welded repairs for PVC, Polyethylene, Polypropylene and ABS.  We even have a mobile service for those bigger jobs that you simply can’t bring to us.

• Feeder Troughs

Livestock are hard on gear!  A local pig breeder asked us to come up with an indestructible feeder to replace the rusty, worn out metal ones he was using.

The picture on the right shows one of 26 units we made for him out of chemically resistant polypropylene. Apparently one this size will cater for about 40 grunters and it is still light enough for one person to easily remove from the pen to clean.  This is a real bonus from and OH & S perspective.

Unlike metal troughs these polypropylene units won't rust, don't harbour bugs, won't absorb moisture and are not affected by the acids contained in the pigs saliva and feed.

• CNC Routing
